an Indian non-profit organisation.
Worked with the Communications department and also the Global
Issues department,
producing written work like child-issues factsheets. Also wrote
direct mail and other
charity letters.

Wrote a feature for My New Home, a home-décor
magazine based in Cornwall and
Devon.

| 2005 |
Freelanced for Easel Interactive, a
Delhi-based marketing management company. Generated content for
two websites for the company. Researched, wrote and formatted
the content of both. Also did the design for one of the websites.

Freelanced for TravelIndia.com, an Indian
tourism company that conducts packaged tours for visitors from
India and abroad. Researched and drafted fact files of Indian
cities for their website. Also wrote the content for the website’s
photo stories that depicted quintessential Indian themes.

| June - July 2003 |
Trainee Copywriter at Rediffusion-Dentsu-Young
& Rubicam, Delhi. Worked on posters, radio spots, film
and print ads. Worked on briefs for clients such as the Indian
Army, PVR Multiplexes, Kajaria Ceramics, Cancer Sahyog Society.
Especially important was the publicity campaign undertaken by
the Indian Army in order to highlight the work done by them in
the terrorism stricken Kashmir Valley.

SPECIAL PROJECTS / ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
| 2002 - 2004 |
Was a member of the Miranda House Dramatics Society,
The Ariels. The society performs plays that tackle the current
social problems such as communalism, exploitation of women and
hypocrisy of the Indian urban population. Held the post of the
General Secretary of the society in second year of college in
2004. Performed various activities, from script writing, direction
and choreography to background music.

| December 2004 |
Wrote Voices, a play about violence against women. The play was
a montage of monologues and incorporated experiences of women
in various milieu and situations, from all over the world. All
the stories were real-life; the play originated from a series
of workshops and talking sessions. The play was performed across
colleges in Delhi University, and also adapted as a street play.

Member of the Gender Issues Forum in college, which sensitises
students towards gender biases and runs a help-line for women.
Organised talks, seminars and workshops. Participated in marches,
public meetings and debates.

Wrote fiction and features for FreshLimeSoda.com, a popular Indian
e-magazine.
